About

Red Ogre Review is indie press for poetry and visual art founded in October 2021 by creative writing Master’s graduates of Lancaster University (United Kingdom).

Why the Name?

Geoffrey of Monmouth wrote about how, in folklore, ogres lived in ancient Britain before human civilization. We thought it sounded catchy!

We also happened to already own the domain name, which our founder had randomly bought from a clearance sale for around five dollars, so we just ran with it.
