Life Loss by Pia Quintano

Artist’s Statement

Life Loss expresses my deep empathy with animals and my respect for them as sentient beings. I believe we live in an era, which will later be regarded as Neanderthal due to the way we mistreat not only other humans but animals as well. I hope the age when we have developed beyond this behavior won’t take thousands of years to arrive. Gandhi said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
