About the Art
Pink Vortex is a hybrid of action painting and other methods that emphasized giving the work a structural quality while avoiding traditional paint brushes. Paint was dripped, squirted, and applied with plastic bags and found objects to create randomness in the patterns on the canvas. It was completed in one night so that the singular vision that gave rise to it did not have time to shift or change, it was an immediate burst of energy. I hope that viewers, in tracing along the colors and patterns, feel that same creative energy the work was created with.

Samuel Bartlett is a painter and digital artist in northeast Florida. He has been creating work since the 1990s and has been featured in gallery shows in the area.
