Footfalls

Dogs of squalor and the hero abrasive
the power abrasive
Walk away, walk away –
(a shapely case to keep my mace in)
a choice
beleaguered/raw/enveloped
a liver punch
a bunch of pearls
an early lunch
and the sinner evasive
the power evasive

the shivers embrace us
the footfalls outpace us
Stalk away, stalk away –
(a powerful stride to reap the Hasten)
no choice

Dogs of squalor, sires of toxicity
March on, follow without a target
Fall behind

Chase – run hard, look over your shoulder
We’re coming
