Mythos in Napoli

Mythos in Napoli by Nelson Lowhim

About the Art

This piece was created from my time in Naples. The collage beneath is from the graffiti and places walked, especially those narrow streets. Everywhere one hears the whispers of tales of violence just beneath the surface. I speak in the lively streets as well as the museums. Alexander on a chariot chasing and just about to kill a fleeing emperor. The dead from the camora. Their grip on that city. The grip of poverty as well. The main overlay for the collage was a myth, a tale from the past. Fitting, I would think.
