Vicente Cayuela is a Chilean-born artist whose work explores how photographs can be constructed and serve as a medium for healing and identity (re)generation. Creating photographs from hand-made sets, he incorporates a rich array of creative tools to build liminal spaces that vacillate between the comic and the melancholic, the public and the autobiographical, youth and something vaguely defined as “maturity.” His photographic and sculptural work has been exhibited in multiple New England venues including the Griffin Museum of Photography and Abigail Ogilvy Gallery at SoWa Art and Design District.
